I worked in the studio on a larger painting most of the day. This was another color study for a large painting. I first painted the large dark shape of the tree, then the mountains. Next, was the lower sky color with the red. Everything was keyed off those colors being subordinate to that. I really wasn’t sure what I was going to paint other that a large tree. The larger painting has some distant farm buildings and a field in the middle ground, but the colors are very much like this.
The Good Art Company Gallery in Fredericksburg has been doing very well for me and it’s time to send some new work to them. They need more. That’s a good thing to hear nowdays.
In Fredericksburg, TX I will be teaching a workshop Oct 24 – 26. The Texas Hill Country is a beautiful area to paint.
