The second painting of the day. By the time I finished this painting it was high tide which change the shape of the waterway in the marsh. The sun was also coming out more than the earlier painting with the mountain just peeking out of the fog.

This was my third painting of the day at Bayland Park near Palo Alto, CA. This was the Ranger’s Cabin, certainly not what I would expect looking at this painting with a cute picket fence around it. The greens of the bushes and grass were reflecting in the house which was a perfect complement for the pick flowers on the bush.
This week I used Gamblin’s Portland Gray Cool & Warm and their Warm & Cool Whites. I love them. I didn’t necessarily use them by themselves, but used them to modify colors and as a starting point with my grays.
